Romney Warren Spring Scavenger Hunt
Event Date: 15/04/2025 10:00 - 13:30
Two time slots are available for booking: 10:00 to 11:30 AM and 12:00 to 1:30 PM.
Join Ranger Jasmine for a gentle Springtime walk around Romney Warren.
On our stroll we will be looking for signs of spring with a spotter sheet. We'll be keeping an eye out for blooming flowers, budding trees, buzzing bees and the return of migratory birds ticking them off our list as we go. Will we be able to tick off them all?
After the walk, there will be a chance to unleash your creativity by decorating your very own butterfly. This fun and engaging activity is perfect for all ages and will allow you to take home a colourful reminder of your springtime adventure!
Booking required - £2.50 per child. Children must be accompanied at all times.
Suitable for children aged 3+
Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and sturdy footwear, as the ground may be muddy and uneven in places. Due to the topography and kissing gates, this walk is regrettably not accessible for everyone. However, some very small pushchairs may be able to manoeuvre through the kissing gates.

Romney Warren Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) surrounds the Romney Marsh Visitor Centre.
Previous land use involved sheep grazing and gravel extraction which has created dune grassland and seasonal ponds. These features now provide nationally important habitats for a range of wildlife.
The site is easy to explore with three circular waymarked nature trails; the dragonfly trail (0.2 miles), the rabbit trail (0.4 miles) and the sheep trail (1 mile) with information panels about the wildlife and history along the routes. Romney Warren is managed by Romney Marsh Countryside Partnership on behalf of Folkestone and Hythe District Council.
